When my friend Sagar informed me that he was suffering from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), I was stunned and had no words. My mind raced with questions—how, why, and what next? Sagar surprisingly seemed calm; he had accepted this and believed that the medical fraternity would be able to give him a better chance at life.
Since sometime last year, Sagar had been experiencing severe fatigue and, over time, developed an acute fever and cough. When he went to get himself checked, the doctors were concerned and asked him to undergo multiple examinations. On January 10, 2023, his results revealed that he was suffering from Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The doctors made it clear that if it was untreated, it would be fatal.
When his family heard this, they were in anguish. The estimated cost of his treatment is Rs. 30,00,000 (Thirty Lakh Rupees), and their financial situation is not favorable. Sagar is the only earning member of his family of five. But nothing matters more than his life, and they have begun his treatment, along with doing everything they can to raise the money for his medical expenses.
Sagar will need to undergo chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. He has already begun his chemotherapy cycles and is admitted to Max Superspeciality Hospital, Ghaziabad. The bone marrow transplant is not included in the estimated treatment cost of Rs. 30,00,000. This amount is a heavy financial burden that the family cannot afford.
Sagar’s nine-year-old son misses having his father at home. When he asks his family about him, they try to encourage him and keep him happy. Like any child, he deserves his father’s love and care. If Sagar does not receive timely medical help, his son could lose his greatest love and inspiration.
As Sagar’s friend, I would like to help ease his mind regarding finances while he embarks on his road to recovery. With your help, we will be able to accomplish this quickly. Please donate, no matter how big or small, to this fund. All donations will go directly to his medical expenses while he receives his intense treatments. To help us further, you can share his story on other social media platforms.
We thank you for your support and generous donation. Your prayers, gratitude, and generous help will surely help Sagar recover faster.
